Abstract
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality after trauma in our circumstances. The management of the patient with TBI has been progressing and growing rapidly recently by an understanding of intracranial pathophysiology after TBI and by the more developed diagnostic tools such as brain CT, MRI, etc. And the outcomes of patients with TBI has been improved. The treatment of TBI is composed of the medical or surgical treatements to the primary and secondary damages after trauma, through which we obtain the control of increased intracranial pressure, maintenance of adequate cerebra perfusion pressure, maintenance of adequate cerebral blood flow and maintenance of adequate cerebral oxygenation. With the understandings and continuous investigations to the TBI process, we will develop the new diagnostic tools and treatment methods and we can offer the more qualified heath services to the patients.
